My last day at Paper Source has been bittersweet. We couldn't have left without a classic PS moment filled with Leona's Pasta Pizza, and cupcakes.
And then the real fun... I don't know who suggested it, but the entire department posed for my last supper. Please note the bottle of Vodka and cans of Red Bull on the table... those were a present from Joe and John. I'm going to miss them all.
My dad has always been a technophile. It's why we had our first (of many) computers back in1978. (30 years... really?) So the only thing surprising about him getting an iPod touch was how long it took him to do so. Since getting it he's pretty well enjoyed it. I told him now he's going to have to start downloading music and he mentioned how it's a shame he can't get his records onto it. I mean, heLs got a few albums, but the majority of his records are the 45's in his jukebox. All the original releases and songs that are easily connected to our growing up memories.
Now he can... well, in 5 days or so.
See, last night, I was up when the new woot tweet was sent, so I actually noticed it. Today's woot is a portable usb turntable that includes everything you need to import your vinyl. Honestly I didn't expect him to buy it. He'd never heard of the site and I'm sure he was not impressed by their wacky literary narrative they used to describe stuff. But surprisingly, I got an email from him today (from his Ipod) saying thanks he bought it.
I love it when I am able to help him with tech stuff. :)
I think I look a wrong turn in Albuquerque and ended up in Russia!
Really I braved the cold and near death sliding on Washington due to a metal plank covering a hole in the road all for bike to work day and a cup of coffee. It was actually a very pleasant ride except for the frozen tootsies from boots that weren't thick enough.
